Inman News’ Real Estate Connect comes to San Francisco this week, and we’re excited to announce that Pacific Union International’s Mark A. McLaughlin and CC Holland are among the industry leaders who will be speaking at the three-day conference.
Real Estate Connect opens Wednesday at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel, and McLaughlin, Pacific Union’s chief executive officer, will be one of five speakers Thursday morning at a General Sessions panel discussion titled “Pulling Your Listings From Aggregator Sites: Who Wins?”
The talk focuses on one of the hottest topics facing real estate professionals today: how new Internet technologies are reshaping the industry – sometimes for the better, sometimes not – and whether they can be reshaped to better serve homebuyers and sellers.
The topic has been a focus of interest recently at Pacific Union.
In March, McLaughlin posted an open letter to the aggregator site Trulia, pointing out inaccurate data, confusing placement of advertising, and a lack of proper attribution on property listings. Trulia responded in June, announcing an overhaul of its property listings and marketing tools.
McLaughlin will be joined on the 10:45 a.m. panel by Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow Inc.; Errol Samuelson, president of Realtor.com; Luke Glass, vice president and general manager of ListHub; and Saul Klein, senior vice president of Point2. Brad Inman, founder and publisher of Inman News, will be the panel moderator.
Thursday afternoon, Holland will be a speaker at a panel discussion titled “Brand Building and Social Media,” part of the Digital Marketing conference track.
Holland is vice president for digital media and content at Pacific Union, and the 2:45 p.m. talk is intended to help real estate professionals take advantage of today’s social and mobile platforms to create a bond with their clients while ensuring brand consistency and effectiveness.
Other speakers at the panel discussion include Amy Kelman, vice president for customer success at Hearsay Social, and Stacey Harmon, principal at Harmon Enterprises. The moderator will be Kelly Mitchell, founder of AgentCaffeine.com and CEO of REcake.
