Your monthly update on all DEI Initiatives! |
Hello Compass Team, In the past few weeks, we have had a host of incredible guest speakers at Compass – many who have left us even more inspired and empowered by their work and activism. I wanted to take a moment to share my highlights of the iconic speakers we’ve had at our events, such as my interview with author Cole Brown and a dynamic fireside chat with Reshma Saujani, Founder of Girls Who Code. Both of their voices challenge the system and structures we are moving in. The power that comes from authentically telling our own stories is what creates true change. In the spirit of change-makers, my team and I are committed to amplify the work of employees and agents that are doing phenomenal, philanthropic acts centered around DEI in our communities. Moving forward, we will include a nomination form in each flash report for you all to have the opportunity to nominate yourself or a colleague that ties diversity, inclusion and equity into the work they do outside of Compass – those who are making the world a better place for us. We’ll be sure to highlight them in our our “Community Engagement” section and other channels. April also marks National Arab American Heritage Month, Fair Housing Month and Autism Acceptance Month. Each one of us should celebrate and build places of belonging for our communities throughout the year – nevertheless, these moments should be a time for us to reflect on our roles on how we’re supporting and empowering those around us. Looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together! – Jodie Taylor (jodie.taylor@compass.com) |
